Privacy Policy – Qin Log Tracker
Qin is a private, on-device health tracker for bowel and urinary health. Your health data is sensitive — we treat it that way. This policy explains exactly what is collected, what stays local, and what never leaves your device.
💡 The short version: Your health logs never leave your device. We collect only anonymous crash reports and analytics to improve the app. There are no ads in Qin.
1. Information We Collect
We automatically collect the following anonymous data:
- Crash reports — anonymous technical diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics
- Usage analytics — anonymous feature usage statistics via Firebase Analytics
- Push notification token — via Firebase Cloud Messaging, used only to deliver daily reminders you configure
- Pro purchase status — stored in Firebase Firestore solely to restore your Pro access across reinstalls and devices. No health data is ever included.
We do not collect personally identifiable information.
2. Health Data – Stays on Your Device
All health logs you enter in Qin — bowel movements, urination entries, Bristol Scale data, hydration levels, symptoms, notes, pet logs, and profile information — are stored exclusively in a local database on your device. This data is:
- Never uploaded to our servers
- Never shared with any third party
- Never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond your personal use
- Permanently deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data
3. Optional Google Drive Backup
If you enable Google Drive backup in Settings, your local database is backed up to your own Google Drive account using Android's standard backup API. This backup:
- Goes directly to your Google account — not our servers
- Can be disabled at any time in Settings
- Is governed by Google's Privacy Policy
4. Data Export
You can export your data at any time as CSV or plain text from the Settings screen. Exported files stay on your device and are never transmitted by the app.
5. How We Use Collected Information
- Fix crashes and bugs (Crashlytics)
- Understand general feature usage to improve the app (Analytics)
- Deliver daily reminder notifications you configured (FCM)
- Restore your Pro purchase across devices (Firestore)
6. Local Preferences
The following settings are stored locally on your device only and removed on uninstall:
- PIN code — stored as a SHA-256 hash only; the raw PIN is never saved
- Biometric unlock preference
- Security questions and hashed answers
- Theme and motion settings
- Daily reminder time
- Urine tracking toggle
- Active profile selection
7. Advertising
Qin contains no advertisements. Google AdMob is not used in this app.
8. In-App Purchases
Pro features are available via a one-time lifetime purchase or a monthly subscription, processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not handle or store your payment information.
9. Third-Party Services

Qin does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, or external storage.
11. Security
Your PIN is stored as a SHA-256 hash — the raw PIN is never saved anywhere. Biometric authentication uses your device's secure hardware enclave. All Firebase communications use TLS encryption in transit.
12. Data Retention
Crash and analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's policies. Firestore Pro records are kept as long as your purchase is active. No health data is ever stored on our servers.
13. Children's Privacy
Qin is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will assist with data removal.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
